Notes

• All searches are case insensitive.
• Select categories to limit your search to specified categories. Selecting no categories will produce results from all categories.
• To search for {word1) or {word2}, enter them as "{word1} or {word2}", e.g., "abortion or infanticide". There is no limit to the number of words in an "or" statement.
• The check boxes on either side of the search word fields designate word boundaries. Example: If you enter the word "congress" and check the boxes on both sides, the word "congressional" will not be found.
• Word boundary limitiations will be applied to all words in an "or" statement.
• Date fields will accept most recognizable date formats. If year is omitted, the current year is assumed. The date "2/28/06" passes as Feb. 28, 2006 (which is undoubtedly what was intended), but "Feb 28 06" will be seen as Feb. 28 of the current year, the "06" interpreted as the hour. However, "Feb 28 2006" works fine. The month can be a standard abbreviation, but if you spell it out, get it right.
• Initially, the database includes site entries going back to Jan. 1, 2004. Earlier entries may be added later.
